CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF DESIGNER STYLE: Saturday morning, March 17 Have you ever wondered what goes on in designer workrooms or how top-quality garments seem to have such unique styling, fit and details? Sewing instructor and fashion connoisseur Fred Bloebaum shared tips and techniques for creating the same details and style that many well-known designers achieve. Fred has written articles for Threads Magazine about many of these techniques. This was your opportunity to learn them first-hand as well as see a wonderful collection of garments inspired by these designers.

SEWING WITH KNITS: Saturday afternoon, March 17 This class demonstrated examples and techniques for working with a wide variety of knit fabrics, including single-and-double-knits, stretch knits, novelty knits like Slinky® and stretch velvet, power knits and many others.

DAPHNE AND THALIA PANT WORKSHOP, Sunday, March 18 Just ten lucky students, the first to register, had the opportunity to work with Fred in this hands-on, all-day class. They tried on samples of the pants in all sizes to determine their correct size and preferred style, then actually constructed pants using either the soft, pleated Thalia pattern or the slim-fitting Daphne design.
