Haberman Fabrics' 4th Annual Superbowl Sunday Football Widows' Sewing Retreat
SUNDAY, JANUARY 28, 2001

Each year the popularity of our Sew-In grows. So if Super Bowl Sunday is not your thing, we know you'll enjoy joining the merry band of new and experienced sew-ers for the day at HABERMAN FABRICS, on Sunday January 28, for our modern version of an old-fashioned sewing circle. We'll make it fun, a special day for us all to enjoy our sewing passion together. You'll visit and share with other creative women, learn quick and easy sewing techniques, enjoy light refreshments, problem solve, work in our classroom (space permitting) on sewing projects you bring in, or start new projects to complete at home during the evening football game, all while the guys are home glued to the TV. You may want to bring your own sewing machine to use if ours are too busy. Plus we're presenting four 15-minute demonstrations on easy techniques for special sewing projects.

HAVEN, founded in 1975, is the only organization in Oakland County, which provides treatment, and prevention services focused exclusively on the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. Their programs include emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children, residential and non-residential counseling for domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, advocacy in the courts and a "first response" program on call to hospitals, police departments and other locations to provide advocacy and support to victims. They also provide counseling and treatment for those who have survived sexual assault both as adults and as children, counseling for adults molested as children, supervised parenting time, and prevention education to schools, community groups and systems such as health care, law enforcement and clergy.

Here's our game plan for Super Bowl Sunday:

PROBLEM SOLVING CLINIC: 12:15 — 4:30 p.m. Although we're always happy to help you with sewing challenges, we're devoting this time to answering questions on the projects you bring in for our CLINIC. You bring the questions and we'll help you find solutions. Teacher: Lucky Weddigen
