Benefit Halloween Dog Costume Contest

On October 26, 2002 a dozen fun-loving, animal-loving contestants entered our Halloween Dog Costume Contest, each making a donation to the Michigan Humane Society, and parading their delightfully disguised dogs around the new Haberman Fabrics store, in costumes they created for them. Also, each contestant received a photograph of their disguised "best friend" to hang in a place of honor.

For the month of November, family and friends, and the world at large, voted for their favorite, most creative, funny or fabulous costume. Our thanks to the wonderful contestants in their adorable costumes, to their families, and to all of you who voted in the contest. Through your generous participation, $764.00 was donated to the Michigan Humane Society to support their fine efforts assisting our "best friends".

GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Contestant #2 SHELBY MACKENZIE
This precious bichon is dolled up for dancing in her pink poodle skirt, complete with black collar and cuff trim. She even danced, twirling on her hind legs. Adorable!

Incredible Scotties, dressed up in their own Scottish garb, with plaid pleated kilts, matching tams, and, (would you believe it?!) even perfect little bagpipes. (Sorry, they don't show up in the photo.) What a wonderful pair of pooches.
