2004 PROM DRESS
Fashion Show & Contest

Toby Haberman And Winning Contestants
Toby Haberman And Winning Contestants

Haberman Fabrics staged a colorful Prom Dress Fashion Show and Contest, Tuesday evening, June 8, 2004, as a benefit for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and to support the creative ambitions of talented young women from throughout the region. Contestants came from far and wide to Haberman Fabrics, purchasing their fabric from the region's epicenter for fine fashion and decorating fabrics offered with knowledgeable assistance for novice and experienced patrons.

JoAnn Lucas of MADDJoAnn Lucas, President of Oakland County MADD greeted the audience of 150 enthusiastic contestants' friends and family members and expressed appreciation for their support of the very important work done by her organization on behalf of all our children. Over $800 was raised for MADD through $5.00 audience admission donations.

Winners, selected by audience balloting, received generous prize packages of gift certificates and merchandise from Haberman Fabrics, Universal Sewing Centers (located in Haberman Fabrics), and a myriad of Royal Oak shops, restaurants and theaters. We hope you find opportunities to visit them. Please see the complete list below. The girls designed their own dresses and were judged in two categories: Dresses sewn by Professional Seamstresses and Dresses Sewn by Non-Professionals. Many contestants made their own beautiful dresses.
