CECELIA PODOLAK - the talented pattern designer; sewing, fitting and pressing expert; best-selling author; and popular speaker and educator - inspired, educated and thoroughly pleased sewers attending one, two, or all three seminars at the "Fearless Sewing Weekend" at Haberman Fabrics, March 5-7, 2004.

Students coming from outside Michigan or just beyond the metropolitan Detroit area, enjoyed the excellent accommodations offered at special seminar rates at the Radisson Kingsley Hotel.

The seminars offered intensive instruction. FRIDAY focused on TRADE SECRETS OF "THE CLASSICS" PATTERNS, where the best of ready-to-wear joins the sewing world. Cecelia demonstrated how her specialized patterns are designed to incorporate the best ready-to-wear features, fit and construction techniques. Her classic designs to enable home sewers to get a good fit and then be able to re-style the patterns into a wardrobe of perfect clothes.

SATURDAY'S all-day format showcased Cecelia's several styles of jackets and shirts. The morning's class FITTING AND ADJUSTING JACKETS AND SHIRTS, focused on fitting challenges to banish frustration and costly mistakes. Following a catered lunch, students learned THE 'INS AND OUTS' OF QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: JACKETS AND SHIRTS. In this class Cecelia shared garment industry techniques for professional results, including her priceless tips on pressing, for creatinging great new jackets and shirts with confidence and pride.

FITTING, ADJUSTING AND SEWING PROFESSIONAL QUALITY PANTS and SKIRTS was the subject of SUNDAY'S four-hour information packed seminar. Students learned how to tackle challenges avoided for years, plus Cecelia's design and sewing tips.
