PROM DRESS
Fashion Show & Contest

Toby Haberman And Winning Contestants
Haberman Fabrics' annual Prom Dress Fashion Show and Contest
was held Tuesday evening, June 7, 2005, as a benefit for Mothers Against
Drunk Driving. This colorful contest also lent support to the creative
ambitions of talented young women from throughout the region. Contestants
came from all over southeast Michigan to Haberman Fabrics, purchasing
their fabric from the region's epicenter for fine fashion and decorating
fabrics offered with knowledgeable assistance for novice and experienced
patrons. Just under $500 was raised for M.A.D.D. through $5.00 audience
admission donations.
The girls were judged in two categories: Dresses Sewn by Professional
Seamstresses and Dresses Sewn by Non-Professionals. Many contestants
made their own beautiful dresses. Winners, selected by audience balloting,
received exciting prize packages, totaling $2500.00 in value. Prizes included
gift certificates and merchandise from Haberman Fabrics and many fine
Royal Oak shops, restaurants, salons and theaters. The Grand Prize in
the Non-Professionally Sewn category included a Janome sewing machine
given by Universal Sewing Center, located in Haberman Fabrics. We hope
you find opportunities to visit these generous businesses. Please
see the complete list below.
