010 - HAND SEWING FOR KIDS
Kids (ages 8-11) and teens (ages 12-16) will learn the basics of hand sewing, including: various commonly used stitches, basting, the proper way to sew on a button, and a couple of decorative stitches. All of the techniques that the students will learn, will be incorporated into a needle case they can use for their future sewing projects.

Are you "sewing illiterate"? If so, this class is for you. The goal of this course is to prepare you for beginner-level classes and basic home sewing. No projects will be assigned. You will learn about stitch settings, threading the machine, and bobbin winding. You will also be taught about notions, interfacings, and sewing patterns.

Beginning sewers learn the basics while making two beautiful decorative square or rectangular pillows, using bias-cut fabric-covered cording and inserted trims. Class will include learning how to use a rotary cutter, cutting bias and using a zipper foot to cover cording. Many of the techniques learned in this beginning class will apply to future home decorating classes.
