014 - Kids' Ruffled Skirt

Using McCalls pattern #6327, kids (ages 8-11) will learn sewing machine basics, how to read and follow a pattern, and how to choose fun, appropriate fabric for their project while they make a stylish elastic-waist ruffled skirt. All materials can be purchased at the end of the first class session with guidance from the instructor.

019 - Teen Pajama Pants

Teens (ages 12-16) will learn basic sewing skills while they make a pair of pajama pants using either McCall’s #3856 or #3906.  These pants will become favorites!  Teens learn sewing machine basics, how to read and follow a pattern, and how to choose a fun, appropriate fabric for their project.  All materials can be purchased during the first class session with guidance from the instructor.

021 - Kids Boxers Or Pajama Pants

This class will excite boys and girls (ages 8 – 11) when they learn how to make something that they want to wear. Using McCall’s #3906 or #6225, kids will create a pair of shorts or pants to wear inside or out! They will learn basic construction techniques, how to read and follow a pattern and how to use a sewing machine.

027 - Kids' Intro To Sewing Machine Workshop

Kids (ages 8-11) Kids will learn basic sewing skills along with how to use basic sewing machine functions to create a tote bag or Christmas stocking for the holidays. They will have fun practicing their skills as they use their creativity to add decorative elements such as ribbons and trims.  They will be proud to show-off their bag that is truly unique. Fee includes a kit containing fabric, straps & embellishments. (Parents do not need to stay to help with purchasing decisions)

100 - So You Want To Learn To Sew

Are you “sewing illiterate”?  If so, this class is for you.  This hands on course is to provide you with the necessary sewing machine skills for all of our beginner-level classes. You will learn about stitch settings, machine threading, and bobbin winding. At the end of the course you will walk away with an apparel or home dec project. You will also be taught about notions, interfacings, and sewing patterns.

135 - Commercial Patterns Alterations Workshop

The focus of this class will be on basic alterations to any commercial paper pattern. You will learn how to shorten or lengthen sleeves, pant legs, and skirts; shorten or lengthen bodices in dresses and crotches in pants. This class will also show you how to increase or decrease the waist and hip areas on any garment pattern.

175 - DIY Dress Form

Wish you had an exact body double to fit garments as you sew? Here's your chance to make your own duct tape dress form that exactly replicates your own figure. Students will pair up to "build" each others' dress form with just a couple rolls of duct tape. (detailed supply list will be provided before class. Students must be able to stand for long periods of time.

502 - Beginner Pillow

Beginning sewers learn the basics while making a beautiful decorative square or rectangular pillow, using bias-cut fabric-covered cording and inserted trims. Class will include learning how to use a rotary cutter, cutting bias and using a zipper foot to cover cording. Many of the techniques learned in this beginning class will apply to future home decorating classes.
