Students need little or no experience.

Advanced Beginner - Intermediate
Students should be able to use a sewing machine and follow printed directions.

Intermediate
Students should understand basic garment and construction techniques and be very comfortable using a sewing machine on their own.

Advanced
These classes are suited for long-time sewers. Students should be very comfortable with using sewing machines, reading and following printed directions, and have advanced knowledge on garment and construction techniques.

502 - Beginner Pillow

Beginning sewers learn the basics while making a beautiful decorative square or rectangular pillow, using bias-cut fabric-covered cording and inserted trims. Class will include learning how to use a rotary cutter, cutting bias and using a zipper foot to cover cording. Many of the techniques learned in this beginning class will apply to future home decorating classes.

515 - Simple Curtain

Beginners learn how to sew as you dress up living room, bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom windows. Make a simple rod-pocket window treatment, lined or unlined, to use alone or over blinds or shades. You leave class with a custom curtain that fits your décor!

601 - Upholstered Ottoman

Learn simple upholstery techniques as you transform an old footstool, bench or table into a trendy ottoman! The first class session will be demonstration and the "tear-down" of your base. In the remaining three classes, you will rebuild, reupholster, and trim your new piece!

PRE-REQUISITE: #502 & #602 Pillow Classes. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS.

602 - Advanced Beginner Pillow

Create a beautiful new pillow for your home! Expand your pillow making skills as you learn to insert a zipper, use lip cord and expand your choice of fabrics. The techniques you learn in this class will help with other home dec. classes or projects that you undertake. Pre-requisite: Beginner Pillow or permission of instructor.

625 - Lip Cord & Welting Workshop

How do they do that? Learn how to join twisted lip cord flawlessly, blending ends together to make it look continuous. Learn to master your own welting and the little tips on the application of both decorated edges. Also as an added bonus, learn to install an invisible zipper once you add your cording/welting.

633 - Basic Roman Shade

Join this class and construct a working Roman Shade to give your home a new look! The first class will be a demonstration and selection of fabric and notions. In the remaining classes we will complete construction. Maximum finished shade width is 50".
