Padded Hanger Cover

MATERIALS:

• 1/4 - 1/2 yd fashion fabric
• 1/4 yd fusible fleece
• 1 plastic tube hanger
• Thread
• Press cloth

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Trace the hanger you intend to cover and then add 3/4" of seam allowance to the pattern.

2. Place fashion fabric pattern on fold. Cut 2.

3. Place fleece pattern on fold. Cut 2.

4. Using a press cloth, fuse fleece to wrong side of fabric, matching top edges.

5. Fold center peak down 1" to inside. Stitch in position parallel to fold.

6. Place front and back pieces right sides together. Stitch top edges and side edges together, leaving stitched down peak section open for hanger hook.

7. Trim upper corners in a gentle curve. Press flat. Turn right side out. Fit over hanger. Fold up 1/2" on bottom edge and slip stitch together.

Any pocket, tabs or other functional addition should be attached before cover assembly (between steps 4 and 5).

Trim embellishment can be done after cover is assembled.
